E-Lab 2.2.6b IOS Auto-Completion In this lab, you will learn to use the router auto-completion feature (TAB key) and the history buffer. The router is smart enough to complete commands for the user if the user enters enough of a command or parameter to make it unique. It also keeps a history of the commands used in that mode so they can be accessed quickly without retyping the command. Note: The Tab button may move the cursor from the HyperTerminal window to another part of the activity depending on the operating system, browser type, and version in use. If the student is unable to enter commands into the HyperTerminal Window adter the Tab button is pressed, click the mouse button within the HyperTerminal window to continue. Step 1 Learn to use the auto-completion feature of the IOS. Enter the letter s and press the TAB key. Notice what happens. Now enter ? immediately after the s without any space. Also notice what happens. Now add a space between the s and the ?. Now enter sh?. What happens now? Enter sh and press the TAB key (without a space after h). Notice that the whole command is typed out. Enter the command sh pro. What do you receive? Enter the command sh prot. What do you receive now? When typing sh prot, what command where you actually entering?
