Explore the syntax for creating standard and extended access-lists.
Step 1
Enter into privileged EXEC mode.
Step 2
Enter global configuration mode.
Step 3.1
Check the syntax for standard access-lists by using the ? command after each field of the access-list 1 permit 11.0.0.0 0.255.255.255.
For example first try access-list ?, then access-list 1 ?, and so on.
For this exercise use the command access-list 1 permit 11.0.0.0 0.255.255.255 to continue.
Step 3.2
Now observe the difference in syntax by exploring the structure of an extended access list.
Use the ? command in the same manner as before.
For this exercise use the command access-list 101 deny tcp any any gt 1000.
