TMS320VC5402 DSK - CODEC DEMO ----------------------------- This example program demonstrates the use of the Handset CODEC (Mic/Speaker interface) on the DSK utilizing the drivers provided in the DSK library, dsk5402.lib. This demo sets up the codec with the parameters below and performs a digital loopback by polling for input samples (Mic) and writing them back out to the codec (speaker). Codec Parameters Used: Sampling Rate: 16KHz ADC mode: 15-bits DAC mode: 15-bits Analog input gain: 6dB Analog output gain: -6dB Below are instructions on how to run this demo: 1. Connect a microphone/other audio input (e.g. Cd player) to the MIC socket and a speaker to the SPKR socket on the DSK board. 2. Connect your parallel port cable to the parallel port connector on the DSK. You may use an XDS510 connector if you have one and wish to do so. 3. Connect the power supply to the DSK board and power it up. 4. Start up code composer studio and load the codec demo program (executable), "codec.out". Turn on your audio input source and speaker, and run the DSP. The LED's on the DSK will blink for a short while after which the audio input will be played out through the speaker.
